Chris Vibberts composed this music for the 2016 film WHY NOT HOME? In this important documentary, director Jessicca Moore explores the history of birth in America and how we've arrived at the current day excepted practices when it comes to having children.
Told through the lens of doctors, nurses, and midwives (many of whom have chosen to have their own babies at home), WHY NOT HOME? examines the latest evidence on risks and rewards of different birth settings. The film presents a balanced and accessible view on the latest research, along with moving personal stories of medical practitioners faced with big decisions for their own growing families. Viewers are challenged to move beyond preconceived ideas, and to envision a fresh future for maternity care in America. This beautiful collection of 32 soundscapes has been remastered for this release and showcases the cello, marimba, acoustic guitar, piano, and Melodica. For more information about the film: www.whynothome.com Passage is a beautifully produced score that combines elements of ambient, classical, world and roots music to create themes of solitude, time passage, anticipation and thoughtfulness. The subtle and at times sombre compositions weave and ebb their way into soundscapes of imagination and curiosity taking the listener in to their own journey of the mind to places only they can conjure up.
