Recently, the group added an especially lustrous jewel to the Thieves’ crown in the form of the prodigiously talented Chris Vibberts. A brilliant multi-instrumentalist, ‘Mr. V’ has brought a great soulful virtuosity and strong stage presence to bear on the proceedings.

Chris Vibberts has performed on stages from San Francisco to New York, Mexico City to Paris at classic venues such as San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall, Cafe DuNord, The Independent, and Slim’s, Freight & Salvage in Berkeley, The Viper Room in Los Angeles, and Toad’s Place in New Haven, CT. He has also performed at outdoor festivals including San Francisco’s Outside Lands, BottleRock in Napa, CA, and the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas.
Chris has shared the stage with David J (Bauhaus/Love & Rockets), Alex Maas (The Black Angels/MIEN), Derek Brown (Flaming Lips), Matt Duckworth (Flaming Lips), Joel Patterson (Gene Loves Jezebel), Jennie Vee (Eagles of Death Metal/Courtney Love), Sean Hayes, Jill Tracy, Con Brio, The Brothers Comatose, Jealous Zelig, Rose Logue, Darwin, Josh Yenne (Mazzy Star) and has opened for hundreds of artists including Willie Nelson, Jonathan Richman, David Grisman, Devendra Banhart, The Infamous Stringdusters, Greensky Bluegrass, Doobie Brothers, The Outlaws, and .38 Special.
As a multi-instrumentalist, he has been called upon to play guitar (electric, acoustic, slide), bass, keyboards (piano, organ, synths), Indian sitar, lap steel, Melodica, drums, percussion, ethnic flutes, Thai khim, Turkish saz, mandolin, banjo, kazoo, and sing vocals.
